My First English Competition Story: An Embarrassing Moment

In Thursday morning, 30th April 2015. Tsabit, Farrel, and me were going to take a part in an English Competition. The competition was held in SMAN 5 Bandung. It was nine o'clock in the morning when we were told by a highschool girl to follow her to a classroom. In that place, we were told to do some tests. The first test was simple. We just had to fill all the questions with the right answers. After thirty minutes we would do the next kind of test. We were ordered to go to another classes. When we're walking through a class we heard a girl was screaming loudly. So loud and it made us amazed. We tried to peek but the highschool girl once again told us to keep walking. "I think someone was storytelling in that class", Tsabit said. After finished two kind of tests, the test was listening and writing a test. We were going to do the next test. Tge next test was going to be a storytelling test. The three of us shocked and nervous. Actually we didn't prepare anything for this kind of test! Then the storytelling test started. One of the judges told us to do a storytelling of a West Java's folklore titled "Sangkuriang". We're glad, we knew that story ofc! But the best part was, we, the three of us, should do it together. "I think we need a telepathy skill to do this successfully." I said. "No joke." Farrel said. We started the story nicely and quite neat. Tsabit was the Dayang Sumbi and with her amazing acting skill, she killed it! In the other hand, Farrel was Sangkuriang, and he had a nice improvisation skill too. Meanwhile, me acted as a narrator and the dog, Tumang. But suddenly the story ruined up by three of us. It started when i, as a narrator, said to Farrel as Sangkuriang to propose Tsabit the Dayang Sumbi. But, Farrel innocently didn't propose Tsabit properly and it made the judges laughed. After the horrible storytelling session, we're all going to eat lunch and went to the canteen. The canteen was really crowded. We didn't buy any food, it was because we're going to know the results near that time, and we'd went home after all, after this. We had thoughts. We thought we wouldn't win the prize at all. And there came the thoughts of being sorry to our english teachers and our school for not winning any prizes. After this and that horrible feelings about the end of this competition. We were told by a highschooler to go to the Auditory room. In that place the competition's organizers and SMAN 5 Bandung's english teachers assembled to announce the winners. It turned out that SMPN 5 Bandung was the 3rd winner. We relieved that we're still got the third place. After that, we're called by MC to come to the stage, and then they handed us the trophy and the prize ofc. After that we got chances to handshake with SMAN 5 Bandung's student council chief. But me, hand shook with wrong way, I placed my forehead on the student council chief's hand and that was really really an embarrassing moment. Because of that I couldn't sleep well at night after that.
